Sunday, february 9th

This is a sea day and we began it as usual by having our wonderful room service breakfast. The berries were grand as usual.
After breakfast we got ready and went up to Skywalkers for the meet and greet. This was a great one in that it was very well attended and the people did not sit down. People stayed on their feet and they circulated and visited with one another. I was able to connect with all but 2 of the people who are signed up for the cooking tour. It looks as if we will be having a fun group.
Captain Nash was at the get together and I was able to say hello and shake his hand. He is a much slighter man than I imagined.
The maitreD’ was there and he personally arranged for Alice to join us at our dinner table, so that will be great.
The visiting lasted long enough that it was time to head to The Wheelhouse for the English Pub Lunch. Ken and I and Howard and Janeen and Fred and Mary all went together. As usual there was lots of visiting and laughing. So today was the day for me to have my February French fries. They were so very good. I savored every one.
After lunch Janeen and I went to Club Fusion to attend the champagne art auction. We didn’t win anything and we were not very impressed by the auctioneer.
This is formal night so I came back here to get ready and do my hair. We had chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. There were 4 and it is one of the perks of the black card, special Canapés  on formal nights. It was a wonderful evening as usual. Alice was there and I think she really enjoyed being with us. This was the night to celebrate Howard and Janeen’s wedding anniversary. They sang and delivered a special cake. Because we had all had our desserts and didn’t need more sweets they had their cake delivered to their room.
After dinner we stopped at the atrium and picked up a glass of champagne. This was the Captain’s welcome party and the champagne waterfall. We planned to go to see the mentalist but it was already standing room only so we continued to our stateroom and called it an evening.

Tomorrow we are in St. Thomas and the plan is to go to a beach with some of the cruise critic bunch.
