But besides enjoying the movie we had a unique experience in that we had a private showing. There was NO ONE else in the theatre. I learned the next morning that there was a special celebration and fireworks in town and that is why everyone was somewhere else.
We got away in good time and we headed for Peninsula Point. We got there around noon and hiked the mile or so to the lighthouse. Actually we walked but it felt like a hike since I have walked so little during the past 2 weeks.
We had lunch in the rig and then drove toward MacKinaw City. Along the way we were entertained by views of an amazingly beautiful forest, wonderfully manicured properties, and a calm as glass Lake Michigan. At one point we stopped for a break and it was right at a beach so we spent some time in the water. I paddled but Ken changed his clothes and went for a dip.
We stopped for the night at Lakeshore Park campground in St. Ignace. When registering we learned that they have a new light here. It was moved from Detroit and now has a beautiful new home. So we unhooked and went to view it before super. I was able to get another stamp for my passport.
Since this involved walking another mile I was exhausted when we got back to the trailer.
So we ate, showered and I was asleep before my head hit the pillow.
