Traveling to Argyle

We woke early and had coffee and rolls with Liz and Carl. We were busy visiting and before we knew it Barb and John arrived to pick us up.
We piled our luggage into their car and away we went. Well the chatting was not stop. Barb caught me up on a bunch of the news of the family . I learned of a new second cousin.

They took us to a restaurant near the location of our rental car. The food was great but there was entirely too much of it. Neither Barb or I could finish our fish cakes.

I showed them the pictures of our new place and apparently they are thinking of down sizing to the same type of a unit.
They are also considering a similar train trip so I was able to give them all of the information we had. But again the time just flew by. It seems as if I never have enough time to spend with the Miller girls.

We picked up our rental car and we were soon on our way down the province.

Our first stop was to have a coffee and a quick visit at Tim Hortons outside of Hammond Plains.. We stopped and placed a call to Harold Hawkins and his wife Carol. Ken grew up with Harold so we just had to have at least a short chat. Carol had left a cake in the oven so we were limited to 20 minutes.

We were on the road again and the next stop was in Mahone Bay. We hoped to connect with Bruce and Kathy Gallop but we could not find them. We did take time to explore St. James Anglican Church. It is so beautiful and we were so impressed with it. We especially loved the stained glass windows.

We continued on our way enjoying the feeling of being home. Soon we knew it was time for supper. We saw a sign for a place called Anchors Aweigh. It looked like a grand place to have some seafood.

It did not disappoint. On the menu was a seafood chowder. Ken was in his glory. I had a cup and he had a bowl of this amazing nectar of the gods. It had lobster and scallops and lots of wonderful treasures from the sea. Loved every bit of it.

Next Stop Argyle!!!
