October 7th

A Busy Day,

We got going early because of the expected arrival of Phillipe. We imagined that the wind and rain might be a problem so an early start would be a good idea.

We checked out and headed out. By the time we got to Middletown we were ready to have breakfast. We stopped at the Tim Horton's and it was so interesting to observe. It seemed as if everyone was a local and friends. Listening in on the conversations.

Our first stop was in Berwick to visit with Carol Holesdale. Carol is the sister of Barry Kaye. There was a lot of memory sharing going on. But my real treat was to see some of Carol's painting talents. I wanted to head home right away so I could try some of it.

We visited for more than an hour but it was soon time to head to Coldbrook and visit with Agnes and Joelle.

We called ahead and let them know we were coming because Agnes is going through Chemo and it was important to be masked. Again we laughed and remembered and chatted. I presented them with a painting and they gave us a bottle of wine and a lovely wine bottle stopper.

We headed out around 1:30 because we had promised to be at Fred and Helen's at 2:00.

We were given a grand welcome. Helen served tea and cookies and lots of visiting and chatting between the guys made the time go quickly.

Then Helen insisted on preparing dinner. We ate and enjoyed the meal. We headed out at 6 because we wanted to be at Inez's before the arrival of tropical storm Phillipe.

During the day I managed to take some pictures of the fall colors. Of course I am expecting the colors in Cape Breton to be even more spectacular. Ken is not so sure of that. LOL

We arrived safely at Wolfville before dark.

Inez welcomed us with great big hugs . The rain had not begun yet and it was not windy at least not yet.

She loved the painting we gave her.
