We do not have people to visit today but we do have a few things we want to do . We dressed and left the Pines but on the way out I took a few pictures. There were several spots that I have not taken pictures of yet. They have it decorated for fall and it really looks festive.
We were not sure where we wanted to go for breakfast, we finally decided to go to the Fundy Restaurant,
. Apparently this was a hang out for Ken and his friends when he was in high school. Needless to say this place had changed and it was great.
It was bright and well decorated. We opted to sit inside because being on the water was a bit cool. It was sunny and wonderful and everywhere we looked was an amazing view of the restaurant both inside and out.
We ordered breakfast and Ken had what he described and the most delicious scallops he had ever eaten. The look on his face as he savored every morsel was a vision of bliss. I do have a picture of his meal.
I had a regular breakfast of eggs and bacon and toast.
On the way out I took a few more pictures of the interior.
This was an amazing breakfast. We left thinking that we should have come here sooner.
Next we decided to explore the boardwalk along the harbour. The sun was warm now and it was Perfect in every way.
When we left there we went to a Sobeys store. We wanted to purchase some dulse. We also got bottled water and gingerale.
Next it was off to Guy Frenchies. This is a franchise here in the maritimes. They sell second hand clothes. All of it comes from the US. Much of it has never been worn but is surplus merchandise from department stores. The stores are large, clean and well organized. There is a main price list and the price applies to all of the same item, for example all jackets sell for $6.00. It does not matter if it is summer or winter or evening wear or denim. New merchandise is put out each and every hour.
A good part of the proceeds goes to the Children's hospital in Halifax. Here are some pictures of the one we stopped at this morning.
We did not purchase any thing today but I have bought things at other times. In fact the outfit I was wearing the first time I saw Ken when we reconnected was a dress and blazer I bought at Frenchys store. I think the dress was 3 dollars and the jacket was 4 dollars. Another trip down memory lane.
On the way to the car we saw that the tide was out and the clam flats were exposed. No time for clam digging today.
We returned to the Pines and it was soon time to head to the pool. It was a glorious day, perfect for an outside heated pool...79 degrees. I had to take more pictures of the grounds as we walked to the pool.
Then it was back to our room to get ready for dinner. We had a reservation for 5:15
We had a table with a great view, and the food was great and the service was excellent. Ken had a seafood linguine and I had haddock and salad.
We were too full for dessert!
Tomorrow we head for Wolfville with stops in Berwick maybe and Port Williams. If Phillipe moves in early those stops may be cancelled.
This stop in Digby has been amazing. The weather has been perfect and old friends were happy to see us and made us feel like royalty.
