Embarkation Day,
We woke around eight and soon we were
eating breakfast. The hotel provides an excellent hot breakfast.
Then we walked back to the little mall
and we were searching for post cards. We wanted to send cards to
Emmett and Leo and Emmie. We hoped to find Disney themed cards and we
were not successful. But we did decide on some cards and we got
postage stickers from the UPS store while we were there.
Back to the room to write them and then
Ken took them to be mailed. The desk clerk took them so we are hoping
they got mailed.
Our shuttle was scheduled for 10:30 but
there were so many cruisers that getting them organized was like
herding cats. But we were on our way and soon getting ready to board
the Royal Princess. Embarkation went very smoothly and before we knew
it we were in our room. Our own mini suite. It is very nice and seems
so large. We are going to enjoy this
experience. The balcony is on the small side but that is true of all
Royal rooms. But it is big enough to allow for some tanning.
We headed out to look for Fred and Mary
and Randy and Janeen. Quite amazingly we found them in the dining
room right away. That was quite surprising sine there are a few
thousand people on board and many places to eat.
We three ladies went to see the Maitre
d' right away. After a great deal of persuading we were able to
convince him to give us a table for 6 and an later dining time. And
besides that it was a window table.
We returned to the dining room to give
the guys the good news, Ken and I then went to the international cafe
to get me a sandwich since I had not had lunch. I was thrilled to see
that my coffee card was still good. I had a latte and Ken had a
Mocha.
We then went to our room. Ken's
suitcase was there and he could begin to unpack. We met our room
steward “Freddie” and he seems to be very nice and very capable.
Next we had to head for Muster. Our
station is in the Princess Theatre.
We returned to our room. My luggage was
there so I could unpack. Freddie brought us our champagne.
We watched sail away from our balcony
and enjoyed the champagne.
During sail away we could see 7 other
ships. The Royal played the Love Boat tune on their horns. It was
fun.
Our table for dinner is almost perfect.
E are in a back corner with a window. It is almost a cozy private
area. Dinner was great as usual, Ken had the prime rib and I had the
bass.
After dinner we explored the ship a
little.
I tried to sign on to the internet but
the new system may involve a steep learning curve.
