Cozumel

Cozumel, January 25

Today we will be in Cozumel from 10 to 10 so we had breakfast and then got ready to go to shore. Randy arranged an excursion for us. Ken and I were hesitant because it involved taking a taxi to a park. But our concerns were not necessary. We got a cab right away and they knew exactly what we wanted to do.

All six of us were in the same van for a total cost of twelve dollars which was very good. We were met by our guide right away and he guided us all of the way. The amount of information given was astounding. We had been to Cozumel before but all of this was new to us.

First we saw a video on the park and next we went to the museum. The exhibits here were all hand crafted and the talent is astounding. I was so impressed.

After the art exhibits in the museum we walked through an exhibit of the different ruins that can be found in Mexico. These dioramas are made to one twenty fifth scale. The detail was amazing.

We were then taken to an included taco lunch.

Our last item with that guide was the Aztec flyers.

We then proceeded to the next leg of our excursion and it was a trip further down the highway to the
Chankanaab park. The ride was included in our fee and here there were displays of Mayan history and animals to dolphins to beach time. It was very special. The eco-archaelogical tour was really amazing. I know I am using the word Amazing too many times but it seems to be the one that applies.

When were in viewing the lagoon and the coral it began to rain. We spent a little time at the beach and then made our way to the exit. We were caught in a tropical down pour.

We made our way back to the ship to dry off and relax.

It was a late departure but the rainy weather made it less than ideal.

Our day in Cozumel was wonderful. Randy did another great job.

Tomorrow is our last day of cruise number one. We will be heading back to Fort Lauderdale.
