Last Day of the First Segment

 This is Friday February 17,

We started the day with breakfast in the dining room. People joined us later but we were able to have a good visit because they were all new people. We had not met them before.  I hurried off to the theatre  because today was the culinary cooking show. For those who don't know this is an event where the head chef and the maitrae D and the head chief do a comedy routine around their role and the cooking . It is usually a lot of fun. They prepare 3 dishes and then there is a tour of the galley. Today there was a special treat of a solo by one of the waiters. He sang a piece from Phantom and he brought the house down. I just wish I could figure out how to add a video to the blog.

We were given some numbers that I will share with you. Reggie the head chef has 127 chefs working with him, and a staff of 57 to keep the kitchen clean.

Daniel the maitra d , has 190 managers and staff that work under him.

The kitchen uses 90 liters of tomato sauce that they make every day

The ship uses 15,000 eggs every week.

We met Julia and Ken for lunch in the dining room. They told us about the dessert extravaganza taking place upstairs so of course we had to go there to have a look. I did not eat any, I has a sugar free

free triffel.

.

When we went to dinner we brought thank you notes to our wait staff and informed them that we would be changing dining rooms.

The show last night was by the Princess orchestra. It was good but the sound system was entirely too loud. It spoiled the performance.

After that we met Leo and Pauline in Good Spirits and had our final visit and wished them well. Tomorrow they head home.

Tomorrow we begin the next segment of this 2023 World Cruise.
