Meadow Foam
This area around Harrisburg and Junction City is an area where they raise grass seed. So there are fields and fields of grasses.
BUT there was a strange crop I didn't recognize. It looked like a field of milk, a creamy white color and it was smooth, it didn't wave like wheat does.
After questioning several local people I discovered that it is called MEADOW FOAM.
The seeds produce an oil that has many uses including being a main ingredient in many kinds of cosmetics.
This is a picture of a field of Meadow Foam and a close up of the blossom.
It needs bees for pollination and so honey is a by product. They say the honey is very tasty.
