Saturday June 9th continued

We began the day with a leisurely sail to see castles, next we did a tour of the Marksburg castle which was labeled as demanding. We did manage to complete it and on the walk back to the ship we passed a very boisterous beer garden. It went for blocks right up to our ship.

We got back to the ship just in time to put our things in our cabin and then head for the longue. There was a guest speaker, Marc Holzheimer, and he was going to speak about "Mysteries and Truths behind the castles of the Rhineland.

Next we had to hurriedly freshen up and get ready for the evening port talk. Sam did this wearing laederhozen.(sp) That was a clue to the evening to come.

This was a special evening of German food and German entertainment. It was great and the fact that the meal ended with 10 different desserts did not hurt.

After dinner we walked on the sun deck. It was a beautiful evening and we could get pictures of the revelers at the beer garden.

. We decided that we had had a long enough day so we returned to our cabin and called it a very full day

Tomorrow we are in Cologne
