The Sydney Opera House, We toured the Opera House on Sunday March 31st/2013 Very few are not familiar with the Sydney Opera House. It is iconic and a symbol of Australia. Some facts you may not have known: The original budget was for 3 million dollars The final cost was over 100 million dollars. The original architect never ever put foot inside the building. The foundation was almost complete before the engineers had figured out a way to complete the top. The tiles on the outside are self cleaning, they do not require washing. The tiles are especially designed so there is no glare. We took many many pictures of it and here are some of my favorites:
